Maika Oshikawa

Director of the Accessions Division of the WTO, Japan

Prior to joining the Accessions Division, she was Head of the Asia and Pacific Regional Desk at the Institute for Training and Technical Cooperation (ITTC) of the WTO. At the ITTC, she was responsible for managing training and technical assistance activities for thirty WTO members and observers in the Asia and Pacific region, as well as of partnership arrangements with organizations and institutions based in the region. Before joining the ITTC in 2010, she worked in several divisions at the WTO Secretariat, including the Development Division (2003 to 2010), the Technical Cooperation Division (2001 to 2002), the Office of the Director-General (2000 to 2001) and the Trade Policy Reviews Division (1998 to 2000). Ms Oshikawa obtained a MS in Development Studies from the London School of Economics, a DES in International Economics from the Graduate Institute of International Studies (Switzerland) and a BS in Foreign Services from Georgetown University (United States).
