Atabek Nazirov, Deputy Minister of Public Education of the Republic of Uzbekistan

Prior to his appointment as Minister of Public Education of Uzbekistan, Mr. Nazirov worked as Deputy Minister of Innovative Development of Uzbekistan. Prior to that, Mr. Atabek Nazirov worked at the Department for Investment Support in the Industrial Sector of the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development in London as a Senior Regional Banker. He developed a framework and financed more than 50 investment projects in various sectors of the economy, such as manufacture, real estate, pharmaceutical, chemistry, construction materials, and consumer goods. He supervised and coordinated projects in Kazakhstan, Mongolia, Belarus, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan and Uzbekistan.

Mr. Nazirov graduated from the New York State University in Stony Brook (USA) with a degree in macroeconomics and worked abroad for 20 years. In the US, he was an employee of such financial and investment companies as the Goldman Sachs Group, the Avascent Group, JPMorgan Chase in New York. In Russia, he worked for Troika Dialog and MDM Bank.
